Replaced a missing screw in the machine head Made 4 Styrofoam blocks wrapped in masking tape (to prevent shedding) and shoved them into the back cavity to prevent squeaky springs and weird harmonics Intonated the guitar and adjusted string radius and height Made the relief on the pickguard bevel shallower Reshaped the pick guard to fit the neck and bridge Removed corrosion and polished the tuning machines, neck plate, input jack, and pole pieces. Thorough cleaning of entire body, neck and knobsĬleaned and oiled fretboard twice (because I didn't clean it completely the first time and only noticed the next day) and cleaned the frets Here's a list of stuff I did to the guitar (I didn't take that many photos of the state I got it in and I wouldn't want to embarrass my friend anyways): ![]() It sounds and plays infinitely better than before. I'm really happy with how it turned out and thought I'd share some photos here. I used to set up guitars for extra cash back in school so I took it upon myself to turn it into something remotely playable because I know what it's like to love your first electric guitar. So a friend of mine decided to get into electric guitars and had an old samick lying around, abandoned for years, that used to be owned by the brother.
